Tackle AOD Stigma in Tasmania

Understand how alcohol and other drug stigma impacts health outcomes and find out how to recognise and challenge stigma in meaningful ways.

How does it work?

Requesting a Tackling AOD Stigma workshop is easy:

1. Fill out the form on the right to request training.
2. Within 2 business days, you'll receive an email with next steps and your request number.
3. When your request is at the top of the queue, one of our Educators will be in contact to talk to you in detail about your needs.
4. At the time of confirming dates for your workshop or education session you will be issued an invoice for the booking fee: once payment is received, your booking will be confirmed.
5. Once training is finished, each participant will receive a certificate of attendance.

What to expect:

By the end of the session, participants will have an understanding of:

• What stigma is and how it affects us
  How stigma around alcohol and other drugs affects health, wellbeing, and engagement with services.
• How stigma can show up in day-to-day practice
  Including subtle behaviours, attitudes, language, and structural factors that influence the way people are treated or supported.
• Tools to help you make a difference
  Practical ways to notice and shift assumptions and create safer, more     respectful interactions.
