Alcohol and Drug Services provide a wide range of services to assist individuals, families and communities to reduce the harm caused by substance abuse. There is no cost for treatment and counseling.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

Alcoholics Anonymous is a self help group for people who are dependent on alcohol. Groups run in several locations throughout southern Tasmania. Group times are listed in the Community Noticeboard in the daily paper. Messages can be left at all times.
AA doesn’t employ professional counsellors or psychologists. When you phone an AA helpline you will be talking to an AA member, a volunteer who is an alcoholic and is using the AA program to recover and stay sober.

Anglicare Tasmania

Anglicare Tasmania offer a range of support services for Alcohol and Other Drug issues. Two of their programs (Kids in Focus and Care Coordination) are state-wide while their Illicit Drug Service is based in Glenorchy.
