Overview
Building upon the scoping study Knowing the Score, The DEN works to assist Tasmanian sporting clubs and communities to develop and implement effective evidence based drug education to their club members and participants. The DEN also offers supportive consultation to develop and implement policies that may improve the culture around alcohol and other drugs.
Key Outcomes & Aims
The DEN aims to assist sporting clubs to change alcohol and drug cultures that have a negative impact on the club and its members. The key outcomes are to support clubs to have happy healthy members free from negative impacts of alcohol and other drugs.
The DEN aims to achieve this through:
- Consultation and training to assist in the development and implementation of alcohol and other drug policies
- Consultation on changing knowledge, attitudes and behaviors in clubs
- Assisting clubs to ultimately develop a culture that has a lasting positive impact on the club and its members
- Participation at forums and club health expos

Campaigns
The DEN is looking for partners and investors who would like to assist the DEN in developing a successful and effective sporting alcohol campaign for Tasmania.
