Student Placements
Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug use and misuse crosses all sectors of society. If you are a current university or Polytechnic student studying for a social work, education, justice, community service or health based qualification with an interest in or passion for the ATOD field, a community development placement with DEN would be a valuable and positive experience.
We offer work experience and education opportunities to students. The DEN highly regards the mutual benefits associated with student placements and appreciates the value of such opportunities for recruitment and shaping the sectors future workforce.
Participating in our student placement program is a great way to learn more about alcohol and other drug prevention including community development, resource development and research.
All students are assigned to an experienced supervisors and have an opportunity to observe and participate in a wide range of project-based activities which develops professional skills required to work in this field.
Student placements may also open the door to employment opportunities when positions are available. One of our past student placements, Zoe is now has a permanent position with the DEN and is continuing to expand her career development.
